Caves Las Sartenejas

Grutas Las Sartenejas is in Tekax, on the road to Kancab 1.5 km from the center. It presents itself as an ecotourism experience with a local guide, and reviews especially highlight the quality of the explanation by Jorge, the guide, about local flora and fauna, as well as the preservation work he and his family do in the area. The caves themselves are described as incredible by those who visit. It only opens Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, which already suggests it is not a large-scale operation but a family project.
